Cyclist involved in serious collision on Ongar Distribution Road, Dublin 15

Serious RTC at Clonsilla Rd Blanchardstown on the 2nd August 2013

Gardai in Blanchardstown are investigating a serious RTC which occurred at Ongar Distribution Rd Blanchardstown Dublin 15 on the 2nd August 2013.

The collision occurred at approx 12.15pm on the Ongar Distribution Rd (very close to the jct of Clonsilla Rd and Lohunda Park) between a van and a pedal cyclist. The male cyclist (30yrs) was seriously injured in the collision, he was taken by ambulance to James Connolly Memorial hospital and has now been transferred to Beaumont Hospital where his injuries are described as serious. The male driver and male passenger were not injured in the collision.

The road had been closed for a forensic collision examination, the outbound side of the road has been re-opened, the inbound lanes are still closed.

Witnesses to the collision are asked to contact Blanchardstown Garda station on 01 6667000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
