Man on bicycle killed in collision with motorist in Waterford

A 32-year-old man was killed yesterday evening when he was in a collision with a motorist driving a car at Ballyvoile, Stradbally, Co Waterford.

The incident happened at around 6.50pm, last night Friday June 20.

Described as a pedal cyclist, the man was taken by ambulance to University Hospital in Waterford where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Gardai said no other person was injured.

Gardaí at Kilmacthomas Co Waterford are investigating the fatal road traffic collision and the road has been closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact Kilmacthomas Garda Station on 051- 295630 the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
