Woman in critical condition after car and bicycle collision in Dublin

A 30-year-old woman is in critical condition in hospital after a collision between her bicycle and a car driven by a 31-year-old woman on Friday afternoon in Clondalkin, West Dublin.

“Gardaí investigating a serious road traffic collision that occurred on Friday 1st June, 2018 at approximately 3.30p.m. on Oak Road, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 are appealing for witnesses,” said Margaret Flanagan of the Garda press office.

“The collision involved a car and pedal cyclist and the pedal cyclist was removed to Tallaght Hospital with serious injuries.  The female pedal cyclist (30 years) remains in hospital in a critical condition and the female driver (31 years) was uninjured.”

She added: “Gardaí are appealing to any persons who may have witnesses the collision or who travelled on the Oak Road on Friday afternoon at 3.30p.m. approximately, and who may have dash cam equipment to assist them in their investigation to contact Clondalkin Garda Station on 01 6667600, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.”
