DublinBikes expansion construction starts

DublinbikesOn-street work on the expansion of DublinBikes is starting on Talbot Street. The current station is to have additional stands added to it. From dublinbikes.ie:

“Temporary Station Closure – Talbot Street
(14/10/2013)
Talbot Street (station 38) will be temporarily closed from approximately 11:30am on Mon 14th Oct through to Sat 9th November to allow for the expansion of the existing station”

While extra stations are planned near to current stations, Talbot Street is the only existing station which will have stands added to it.

Here’s our map showing the planned DublinBikes stations (red pins) along with current stations (green bikes):

  1. Cannot wait for this. I’d love the be able to go much further by bike. Plus more bikes may offer a better availability as well. I do hope that in the future (roughly) Dublin 7 and 8 will also be served better as they seem not really as well served as the areas around them the current plan.
