Irish Cycle Facility of the Week

Mayo County Council included the below feature on their “world class” Great Western Greenway. As you can see, the feature adds an obstacle course feel to the mostly off-road cycle route — this allows the greenway to be marketed to an even a wider range of cyclists. The low visibility obstacle is especially useful in keeping cyclists pulling trailers on their toes and, in poor lighting conditions, it acts as a useful surprise crash barrier for the extra adventurous.

...That's the end of the article. Keep scrolling if you want to the comments, but IrishCycle.com *NEEDS* readers like you to keep it that way. It only requires a small percentage of readers to give a bit each month or every year to keep IrishCycle.com's journalism open to all. Thank you.

  1. You have got to agree that most County councils are at least consistent in their lack of consideration for all cyclists. No discrimination there!
