Cyclist dies after collision beside Citywest flyover

A cyclist in his late 30s died after a collision during rush hour today on a roundabout in Saggart, West Dublin.

The collision occurred on Citywest Road at Brownsbarn Roundabout at around 5.20pm. 

“The male pedal cyclist — late 30s — was knocked to the ground and removed to Tallaght Hospital where he later died. The road remains closed while a forensic collision examination is taking place,” the Garda Press Office said.

“Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the collision or who may have been in the area of City West Road between 5.20p.m. and 5.30pm this evening or who may have any information to contact them in Clondalkin Garda Station on 01 – 6667600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.”
