Woman cycling bicycle in critical condition after Dublin collision

A 45-year-old woman who was cycling her bicycle is in critical after being struck by a motorist driving a car, Gardai in Coolock said tonight.

Officers at Coolock Garda Station are appealing for witnesses to the serious road traffic collision which occurred on the Malahide Road at the junction with Greencastle Road at approximately 6.45p.m. this evening.

The Garda Press Office said: “A 45-year-old woman who was cycling on her bicycle on the inbound lane of the Malahide Road was struck by a silver opel astra at the junction. Emergency services were contacted and the woman was taken to Beaumont Hospital where her injuries are described as critical. The male driver (early 60s) of the car was uninjured.”

Witnesses to this collision are asked to contact Coolock Garda Station on 01-666 4200, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
