Irish Cycle Facility of the Week

Above and below is part of a route made of Chapelizod Road and Conyngham Road along the Phoenix Park in Dublin. Plans are due to be released which are to change the route to a two-way segregated cycle path. Along the 3km of the park’s wall there’s only two vehicular entrances, so it is possibly a good candidate for two-way.

But the images show how badly an upgrade is needed.

These cars seem to be parked legally in what is some kind of a parking bay. Capture ICFOTW 4

This image from Street View shows how the apparent car parking spaces can only be used by partly using the dashed cycle lane.
