Cycling in land of fire and ice to feature at Dublin Cycling Campaign’s first 2017 meeting

Cycling and cycling campaigning in Iceland is to be the main feature for the first Dublin Cycling Campaign public meeting of 2017, which takes place on Monday.

Campaign chairperson Dr Paul Corcoran is to recount his recent cycling tour of Iceland and Damien Ó Tuama, Cyclist.ie’s national cycling coordinator, will outline how the Icelandic Cycling Campaign have promoted cycling in Iceland in the last few years.

The meeting is on Monday, January 9, at 8pm in the Central Hotel, Exchequer Street, Dublin 2.

Corcoran said: “You might also like to attend our first meeting of 2017 so as to find out how you can help push the cycling agenda in Dublin and around the country, and so as to learn the latest news on the Irish cycling scene.”

“New members particularly welcome and, as always, we retire to the Library Bar after the meeting for a convivial hot chocolate or tipple of your choice,” added Corcoran.

He said he’ll have detailed Iceland cycling maps available on the night for those considering similar adventures.
