News in brief: Belfast cyclists ride on for free breakfast

Belfast is to be taken over twice tomorrow by the all-powerful Northern Ireland cycling revolution lobby group, with both a morning and lunchtime cycle planned for the city.

Ride on Belfast is now in its fifth year and is going strong — unlike one of the former highlights of Bike Week in Dublin, the Lunch Time cycle which died a horrible death due to objections from the Gardai relating to traffic disruption.

The Breakfast Run will start from College Park East (Botanic Avenue behind QUB) at 8am and finish up with a free breakfast at Belfast City Hall, provided by Belfast City Council and Travelwise NI. While the lunchtime cycle will start at Belfast City Hall for a sharp departure at 12.30pm.
