— Gardai seek witnesses and dash cam footage to the morning rush hour collision.

A 50-year-old man on a bicycle seriously injured in hit and run in Dublin 15 last Thursday, July 18, at 9.50am.

Gardai are seeking witnesses to the collision which they say happened at the junction for Mulhuddart Village on the Blanchardstown Road North.

Sean Brosna at the Garda press office said: “A 50 year old male on a pedal cycle was seriously injured when there was a collision with a saloon vehicle described as being blue in colour. The vehicle continued driving in the direction of Mulhuddart Village following the collision.”

The man on the bicycle is believed to have been cycling northbound at the start of Blanchardstown Road North at the time of the collision.

Brosna said: “The pedal cyclist was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital with serious injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. A number of vehicles stopped to assist the pedal cyclist and an ambulance attended the scene.”

He added: “Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward as well as anyone who stopped to provide assistance. Gardaí are also appealing to anyone who may have been in the area between 9.50am and 10.10am, particularly motorists with dash cam footage, to come forward.”
