Man in his 60s on bicycle injured in collision with truck driver

A man in his 60s was injured in a collision with a truck driver this evening at around 6pm on the Newcastle Road, Lucan.

“This was a road traffic collision between a truck and pedal cyclist.  The male pedal cyclist — in his early 60s — received nonlife threatening injuries and was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown,” said Sergeant Margaret Flanagan at the Garda press office.

Gardai said that investigations are ongoing.

An image on twitter shows that the truck was a cement truck.

  1. I was very narrowly missed by a huge Cement Truck this morning in Feltrim, North Co Dublin, near the quarry. I think sometimes such truck drivers forget they are not off road when venturing off site.
