Woman on bicycle injured in collision with taxi driver on Dublin’s quays

A woman cycling a bicycle was injured in a collision with taxi driver outside the Spencer Hotel on Dublin’s North Wall Quay at around 8am this morning.

A spokesman at the Garda press office said: “Gardaí in Store Street responded to a report of a traffic collision between a cyclist and car that occurred on North Wall Quay at approximately 7.59am today, 8 November.”

He added: “Upon arrival, a female cyclist was treated for injuries and then removed to The Mater Misericordiae University Hospital.”

Witnesses or anybody with footage should contact Store Street Garda Station.

  1. I don’t know the details in this case, but I’ve nearly been hit several times by taxis ‘diving’ into the footpath to grab a fare without looking properly for inside traffic. I hope she recovers soon.

  2. I hope AA Roadwatch’s obnoxious anti-cyclist Connor Faughnan doesn’t forget to add this incident to his dubious-sounding “Statistics” that he asserts prove there are less cyclists being hurt on our roads. There are lies, damned lies and (Connor Faughnan’s ) statistics.
