NEWS IN BRIEF: Dublin City Council said it is waiving fees for stationless bicycle share operators after companies offer free use to healthcare workers.
As reported by this website earlier this week, BleeperBike and Moby are both offering support to healthcare workers.
In a press release, Kevin Meade of Dublin City Council’s Environment and Transportation Department, said: “Dublin City Council is delighted to partner in this initiative and support our dedicated healthcare workers. We are waiving permit fees for BleeperBike and Moby while we ride out the current storm until we see the sunshine again.”
Hugh Cooney, CEO and Founder of BleeperBike, said: “It is our pleasure to partner with Dublin City Council to support those in health care during this tough time.”
Thomas O’Connell, CEO and Founder of Moby, said: “We are very happy to be involved in making sure that our healthcare workers can have a free alternative option to get to work if they want.”
Dublin City Council said that BleeperBikes “offers more than 450 pedal bikes”, while Moby “offers more than 50 e-bikes with capacity for a further 120.”
