A man in his 60s who was cycling a bicycle was rushed to hospital after being involved in a collision with a van driver in the outskirts of Trim in Co Meath yesterday.
The Gardai-run Meath Crime Prevention page said: “Gardai at Trim attended the scene of a Serious Injury Collision between a cyclist and a van at the entrance to Lackahash, Trim, Co Meath at approximately 4pm on the 19th October 2021.
“The cyclist and the van were both travelling from the Trim direction towards the Navan Direction. The cyclist was taken to Connolly hospital with serious injuries and remains in a critical condition,” said Gardai.
They added: “Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact Trim Garda Station on 046 94 81540 and anyone who may have dashcam footage.”
Navan Cycling Initiative said: “A person on a bike has been left in critical condition after an incident just outside Trim yesterday. We hope this person makes a full recovery. Any witnesses please contact Trim Garda Station.”
