A new plan for redesigning Barrow Street in Dublin is to go to public consultation on March 23.

The project is to be part-funded by Google but a council official said that Dublin City Council was leading the design of the project.

The area can be a congested area for pedestrians, especially on the narrow footpaths around Grand Canal Dart station.

A previous plan included filtering out through-traffic from the space under the railway bridge to allow for wider footpaths, but the new plan will instead include a shuttle traffic light system at the railway bridge.
