NEWS IN BRIEF: Dublin City Council’s Active Travel Office has hired four more staff in August, including a senior engineer, a senior resident engineer, an executive architect and a senior executive planner.
As reported recently, by the end of Q2 2022, Dublin City Council had only employed 26 of the 55 staff it has funding for. The level, 47%, was the second lowest percentage of active travel jobs filled vs their allocation by councils across Ireland.
Since then, the council has employed at least four more members of staff for the Active Travel Office.
A monthly update report to councillors outlines that: “The Active Travel Programme Office continues to increase staff resources with the addition of a new Senior Engineer, a Senior Resident Engineer, an Executive Architect and a Senior Executive Planner during August. The office continues to engage with our Human Resources section on the recruitment of additional personnel.”
