News in brief: ESB eBikes, which are rentable on-street from a limited number of suburban location areas of Dublin, have expanded their pricing options to include a reduced monthly subscription and a pay-as-you-go option in addition to its standard €10 day ticket option.
The bikes are usual for Ireland compared to other bicycle share services as they must be returned to their docking stations which also charge the bicycles.
- Pay-as-you-go: €1 for unlocking and then €0.15 per minute.
- Full-day hire: €10 per day — remember to return it by midnight.
- Monthly subscription: €15 per month allows for a discounted day fee of €3 per full-day hire.
The ESB system is a trial which is funded by the EU Interreg programme. Its stations and bicycles are operated by a mix of Bleeper bikes and Moby bikes.
