Fingal County Council is to host an Age Friendly Ireland try-a-bike event with various styles of bikes available at the Alsaa Sports Complex, off Swords Road near Dublin Airport, on Friday, August 16th, between 10am and midday.
A range of electric and folding bicycles will be available to try, with advice from bike shop CycleBike on bicycles and Ability Healthcare, which is a supplier of adapted cycles, will be able to provide information on bicycles for people with specific disabilities.
The council’s Active Travel Team will also be on hand to provide information on the programmes and events it provides to help people get back in the saddle. No registration is needed.
Stephen Mc Ginn, one of the cycling officers at Fingal County Council, said: “We’re aiming to make active travel the first choice for shorter journeys, and as part of that, we’re holding an Age Friendly Ireland ‘Come and Try’ day for various styles of bikes.”
He said: “If you’re looking for some advice on the best bike for you, come along to Alsaa Sports Complex on Friday, August 16th.”
