Gardaí are seeking witnesses, and those with camera footage to come forward after the body of a man in his 50s was discovered in the early hours of this morning in the Cloonchambers area of Castlerea.
A spokesperson at the Gardaí Press Office said: “Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances around the discovery of the body of a cyclist at approximately 2am in the early hours of Sunday 15th September 2024 at Cloonchambers, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon.”
The spokesperson said that the man in his 50s was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“His body has been conveyed to Roscommon University Hospital. A post-mortem examination will take place in due course, which will determine the course of the investigation,” Gardaí said.
