Dublin City Council, Fingal County Council and the Office of Public Works are inviting the public to join their family-friendly, car-free 5km ‘bike disco’ around the Phoenix Park tomorrow, Friday, September 20th.
The music-filled cycling event will start at the Phoenix Monument on Chesterfield Avenue, Dublin 8 and run from 8 to 9pm. It is free to attend, but booking is required.
The event will include a number of roads being closed to cars for the cycle, with Chesterfield Ave, Survey Road, Fuze Road, and Upper Glen Road being closed for motor traffic for a time before and after the event. The main motor traffic restrictions start at 7pm. The full details can be found on the OPW’s road closure notice.
The organisers said: “Light up your bike and join us for a Bike Disco on Culture Night to pedal into the night with banging tunes with our bike DJ!”
“All cyclists of all abilities are welcome to light up their bikes and enjoy the Phoenix Park in a most unique way with roads closed for participants’ safety and enjoyment. There will be a bike DJ on the night providing tunes and opportunities for bopping and dancing.”
They added: “The disco will start and end from the Phoenix Monument on Chesterfield Avenue. Roads will be closed from 7pm with the disco starting at 8pm.”
