Man in his 60s found seriously injured on road in Tralee

Witnesses and anybody with camera footage are being asked to come forward after a man who was cycling a bicycle was found unresponsive this morning on the Bracker O’Regan Road in Tralee, Co Kerry.

A spokesperson at the Garda Press Office said: ‘At approximately 12:45 am, emergency services were alerted after a cyclist was found unresponsive on the roadside at Bracker O’Regan Road, Tralee.”

“The cyclist, a man in his 60s, was riding an electric bike (e-bike) at the time of the incident. He received treatment at the scene before being transported by ambulance to University Hospital Kerry, where his injuries are understood to be serious,” said the spokesperson.

Gardaí said that a technical examination of the scene has been carried and the road has since reopened to traffic.

The Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. They are also seeking any camera footage, including dashcam video from those traveling in the area at the time, to assist with the investigation.”
