Garda investigations is happening in parallel to HSA inquiry into death of Greta Price-Martin

There are both Garda and Health and Safety Authority investigations ongoing into the fatal collision involving a truck in which Greta Price-Martin was knocked off her bicycle and died in hospital hours later.

There was some confusion after it was reported that the Coroner’s Court proceedings were paused because of the Health and Safety Authority’s investigation without mention of the Garda investigation into the incident on April 24th at the junction of Glenageary Road Upper, Mountown Road Lower and Kill Avenue in Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin.

It is normal procedure to open and then adjourn Coroner’s Court proceedings to allow for Garda or Health and Safety Authority investigations. The latter was involved because of the truck that was involved in the collision.

A spokesperson for the Garda Press Office said: “A Garda investigation into this matter remains ongoing. A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
