Free passes offered as on-street bicycle rental firm Moby to take over from Bolt in Bray

— System “will expand to Greystones, Arklow, and Wicklow Town at later dates”.

Wicklow County Council has said that from yesterday (Saturday) stationless operator is to take over from Bolt.

To celebrate the launch, the council said that it and Moby are offering free passes during March.

The council said: “Wicklow County Council, in partnership with MOBY, is excited to announce the re-launch and expansion of the county’s public e-bike sharing scheme, beginning on Saturday, 1st March 2025.”

The council said that the scheme will “initially launch with 100 shared e-bikes in Bray and will expand to Greystones, Arklow, and Wicklow Town at later dates, with further growth planned based on demand.”

“Once fully launched across the county, customers will be able to rent an e-bike in one town (e.g., Greystones) and park it in another (e.g., Bray) or even cycle to and park in County Dublin, where MOBY also operates a public e-bike scheme,” the council said.

Wicklow County Council said that the service will be available 24/7, featuring a flexible pricing model that includes pay-per-use options, and that there will also be subscription-based passes available before the summer.
