As progress made on new walking and cycling bridge over N40, public asked to name it

News in brief: Cork City Council is looking for a new name for the walking and cycling bridge currently being built over the N40/South Ring Road from Tramore Valley Park to Douglas.

The works on the bridge are advanced and the central span of the bridge looks to be ready to ready to be soon put in place across the dual carriageway.

The council said: “Works are progressing well with the new pedestrian and cycle bridge connecting Grange, Tramore Valley Park and Douglas. We now need your help in naming Cork City’s newest bridge!”

The council said that suggested names that honour, celebrate, or remember a person, group or events of significance that have helped to shape the City of Cork will be considered. More details on how to make a suggestion can be found at Corkcity.ie.
