A boy was seriously injured this morning in Carrigaline when he was knocked off his bicycle in a collision involving a motorist driving a car.
The Garda Press Office said: “Gardaí in Carrigaline attended the scene of a serious RTC on the Cork Road into Carrigaline at the Ballinrea roundabout that occurred this morning Saturday 12th August, 2023 at approximately 9.20a.m.
“A male child pedal cyclist, was seriously injured when a collision occurred between a car and the pedal cyclist. He has since been removed from the scene to Cork University Hospital and remains in critical condition,” a spokesperson said.
The statement added: “The road was closed for a time but has since reopened. Investigations ongoing.”
