Woman on bike in hospital after collision with another cyclist in Dublin

A woman is in hospital with serious injuries after a collision with another cyclist.

The Garda Press Office said: “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a serious road traffic collision involving two cyclists, which occurred at Botanic Road, Glasnevin, Dublin this morning, Monday 18th September 2023 at approximately 10am.”

“A female was taken from the scene to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Dublin, to be treated for injuries believed to be serious at this time. A male received injuries believed to be non-life-threatening,” said.

The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place said in a press release issued this afternoon.

Gardaí said that they are appealing to anyone with information or who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

The Garda Press Office added: “Any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), and were travelling in the area of Botanic Road or Iona Road, Glasnevin, Dublin this morning between 9am and 10:30am, is asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.”
