Irish Cycle Facility of the Week

August 4, 2014

With a large roundabout linked to a motorway ahead, we’re not sure if the message here is: “You’d be better off cycling on the grass”… or is it: “If you want to live, use this footpath to turn back”?

I am editor of and have reported on and commented on cycling in Ireland for over a decade. My background is in journalism -- I have a BA in Journalism from DCU and HDip in Print Journalism from BCFE. I wrote about cycling for national newspapers, and then started for overflow stories. Later the website was re-branded to reflect a more national focus.

  1. It is quite cavalier but depressing to see how yet again roads engineers in a LA or their consultants just don’t seem to have an understanding of what it’s like to cycle.
