If you want a good news story for Christmas, twitter user @daireof has it for you — how he; staff from FrontlineBikes, a social enterprise bike shop in Dublin’s Inchicore; and a Chief Superintendent, helped get a stolen cargo bicycle back to its owner:
Frontline reported the bike and had some clear cctv footage, so that was a start. Now who owned the bike? @Twitter you beauty! One tweet and a few retweets later I found the owner! We chatted. Updated him on latest developments and sent him cctv images to add to his report.

Honestly at this point I thought I had done my duty and with all the extra info the garda would pick him up in a day or two. So I went about my business gifting Xmas donuts from @TheRollingDonut to my buddies in @FunkedUpFixies. We were just chattin then I saw the cargo sail past

I was on a cargo so wasn't as mobile as Rory but I decided to cruise round grafton st and hope to find him. Cycled round the green and found it parked up and locked. Called the garda and waited close by so I could see it and hoped the garda would get here soon

Job done! But the best bit was calling the owner to tell him he was getting his bike back. He was whooping over the phone and I even shed a wee tear. So Happy Christmas everyone. Miracles can happen!

Great story! The Garda must have been messmerised at the same time by being so close to so many donuts!
Ah, Stan, give them a break on this one! Happy Christmas!
Great Story! Happy Out!
