Galway cyclists take to the streets again over Salthill cycle route after councillors vote down route

NEWS-IN-BRIEF: People in Galway who support the Salthill cycle route are asked to join in the monthly Galway Community Cycle.

A 6-month trial of the route was voted down by councillors in February.

The Galway Cycling Campaign said: “It’s May. We should be nearly halfway through a Salthill Cycleway trial. The councillors who voted ‘No’ haven’t engaged or offered an alternative.“

The group called for people to join them tomorrow (Sunday, May 8) for the monthly Galway Community Cycle.

The cycle will depart at 11am from the Maldron Hotel on Sandy Road and 11.30am from Claddagh Hall.
