Lime bike share to start first Irish operations in Castlebar

International on-street bicycle share company Lime is to start operating its first system in Ireland in Castlebar, Co Mayo.

With the addition of Lime, there will be nine different bicycle share systems operating in Ireland. Another international bicycle share operator, Bolt, recently started operating in Sligo and Kilkenny. The other bicycle share systems in Ireland are in the four main cities, as well as most north Dublin towns.

The Lime app current shows an area around Castlebar town and along the greenway to Turlough village as a parking or usage area. It’s unclear if the app shows any availability of bicycles when you’re inside the operational area.

According to a local newspaper, the Connaught Telegraph, the Lime is due to officially launch the service tomorrow.
