“Absolute miracle” no serious injuries as elderly Dublin motorist crashes into school child on bike, signpost and pedestrian

An elderly motorist who lost control of the car they were driving crashed into a school child on a bicycle, a signpost and a pedestrian last week outside Lidl on the Rathfarnham Road in Dublin.

An eyewitness was said to have said that it was “It was an absolute miracle no one was more injured.”

Today, a spokesperson at the Garda Press Office said: “Gardaí attended the scene of a road traffic incident which occurred at approximately 3.40pm on the Rathfarnham Road in Terenure on 26th September 2022.”

They added: “A car collided with a bicycle at the location and following this the car collided with a sign post and a pedestrian the footpath. No injuries were reported to either the cyclist or the pedestrian.
