The big man himself, Santa, will get on a tricycle lead a family-frendly 5km cycle around Dublin Phoenix Park this Sunday.
The Santa Cycle is organised by Fingal County Council, Dublin City Council, the OPW, and the Dublin Cycling Campaign. The cycle is described as a leisurely 5km cycle on a completely car-free route which makes it suitable for all ages and abilities.
It runs from 1.45 – 3pm on Sunday December 4, and starts at the Phoenix Roundaboud, off Acres Road, beside the Papal Cross.
The organisers said: “In particular new cyclists are warmly encouraged to join this event as group cycles can be a great way to get started with cycling in a fun, relaxed setting. We’ll have plenty of Christmas tunes to pedal (and sing!) along to on the route. So deck out your bike in your finest Christmas gear and kick off the holiday period with a fun festive cycle!”
Nearby bicycle rental includes the Phoenix Park Bikes at the main Park Gate, River Cycles at Ushers Island, and on-street bicycle share, including DublinBikes, Bleeper, and Moby, on the city centre side and Moby and Tier bikes on the Dublin 15 side of the park.
