Christmas #IBIKEBop to take place at 6pm today; and Cycling Without Age Santa Parade on Sunday

There will be rocking around Dublin town on bikes with Christmas beats, lights and a bit of tinsel today in the city centre and on Sunday in the suburbs.

The #IBIKEBop critical mass cycle this month is to take place today, breaking from the traditional last Friday of the month for a pre-Christmas get together, while the Cycling Without Age Clontarf Parade is to take place on Sunday.

...I'm sorry to disrupt you while you're reading this article, but without messages like this, IrishCycle.com's reader-funded journalism won't survive. With nearly 1/2 million views and 300k readers so-far this year, it's not just people who are dedicated to cycling that this website reaches. However, the number of subscribers is around 0.6% of readers. While having a large gap between readers/subscribers is standard for non-paywall reader-supported journalism, IrishCycle's journalism needs more support. Don't delay, support monthly or yearly today. Now, back to the article...

Christmas Bike Bop

I Bike Dublin and Monthly Cycles will meet people for the Christmas IBIKEBop cycle today, Friday December 16, at 6pm Parnell Sq North. They plan to finish at 7pm at Barnardo Square.

Santa parade on Sunday

Meanwhile the Clontarf Cycling Without Age Santa Parade takes place this Sunday 18 December at 4 pm. The parade starts at Strandville Avenue East beside Clontarf Garda Station at 16:00 on Sunday December 18.

The organisers say that Santa will have an amazing new sleigh supported by a host of reindeer getting ready to parade through the streets of Clontarf.

The organisers have made a call out for cargo bicycle users to join them — they say participation is “solely reliant on you decking the bikes out in Christmas lights, tinsel, and décor”. If you’re joining in they are meeting from 15:45 to get ready for the kick-off at 16:00.

...That's the end of the article. Keep scrolling if you want to the comments, but IrishCycle.com *NEEDS* readers like you to keep it that way. It only requires a small percentage of readers to give a bit each month or every year to keep IrishCycle.com's journalism open to all. Thank you.
