Bicycle parking is to be provided for the concerts at Malahide Castle Summer Concerts this month, Fingal County Council has said.
The concerts starting next week and running up to the end of the month include Depeche Mode, Paolo Nutini, Blur, Sam Fender, Florence + The Machine, Sting, and Hozier.
The council were responding to a request for comment on the issue after an IrishCycle.com reader who is attending one of the concerts noticed that there is no bicycle parking information outlined in the information sent out by concert promoter MCD and published on Fingal.ie. The information has the details of every other mode of transport.
A spokesperson for the council said: “While parking is not a condition of the licence the festival organisers are supplying a bicycle parking area which will be located in the car park by the Back Road entrance.”
“In addition to this, bicycle parking is provided by Fingal County Council at Malahide Demesne and at the locations listed below which are nearby. The Council is actively getting the message out to the public to use public transport and that cycling facilities are available at the site and in the vicinity of the Castle,” they said.
