Nextbike by Tier has launched its bike share services in Navan in Co Meath and Lime Bikes has expanded its offering in Co Mayo to Westport.
The Navan launch is the third location for Tier in Ireland — with just Tier electric bikes available in Fingal and DCU, while Nextbike by Tier launched in Limerick last year. The Nextbike offering also includes non-electric bicycles and electric cargo bikes.
The Navan service includes 50 bicycles to start with including half e-bikes and the promise of e-cargo bikes to be available soon. The Navan Cycling Initiative has more details on the launch on its website.
Lime has also expanded its Castlebar coverage area to include Westport town and the routes between the two Co Mayo towns.
A mix of companies now operates stationless bike share across Ireland, including in the four Dublin council areas to some extent, as well as Limerick and Galway cities and the towns of Sligo, Navan, Kilkenny, Wexford, Athlone and Mullingar.
