Male cyclist killed in collision involving car driver on N67 in Co Clare

A male who was cycling was was killed in a collision involving a car driver on the N67, between Kilkee to Moyasta in Baunmore in County Clare.

A spokesperson at the Garda Press Office said: “Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision involving a car and a bicycle that occurred shortly after 12:30pm on Wednesday 16th August 2023 on the N67 (Kilkee to Moyasta Road) at Baunmore in County Clare.

Gardaí said: “A male pedal cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. No other serious injuries to persons was reported.”

“The N67 at Baunmore is currently closed – local diversions are in place. The services of Forensic Collision Investigators have been requested. Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward,” the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson added: “Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N67 in the Baunmore area between 12pm and 1pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.”
