Cyclist killed in Co Galway

Garda press release: Gardaí in Ballinasloe Co Galway are investigating a Fatal Road Traffic Collision which occurred on the main Roscommon to Galway Road (N63) at Ballygar at approximately 5.45pm yesterday evening.

A 61 year old male cyclist died as a result of injuries sustained when he was in collision with a car. No other person was injured in this incident.

The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Witnesses are asked to contact Ballinasloe Garda Station on 090-9631890, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
